In the first experimental phase, select candidates for each stage of the purification, test them and make choices.
In scouting you select unit operation candidates and perform tests that screen for their performance at small scale. From these studies you can propose a purification scheme. To reduce work load test only candidates which are well-proven for use in a production environment. Check out Target molecules in the list to the left for standard approaches.
