Monoclonal Antibodies (MAb)

Monoclonal antibody technology involves fusion of immortal cells (with the ability to replicate continually) with mammalian cells to produce an antibody. The resulting cell fusion or 'hybridoma' will subsequently produce antibodies continually in cell culture.
.
Single-step purification by affinity chromatography is often all that is needed for purification of monoclonal antibodies when an immunospecific interaction exists. While high levels of purity can often be achieved in a single step with affinity chromatography, it may be necessary to employ an additional polishing step such as desalting or gel filtration in order to remove unwanted impurities.
.
Information on single and multi-step procedures for purification of MAb can be obtained by clicking on the links to the left on this page.
