Steroid hormones — HitHunter EFC assays

Steroids EFC Chemiluminescence HitHunter Assays

The HitHunter™ Steroid Hormone Assays are homogeneous immunoassays where analogs to the respective steroid hormone compete with ED-steroid hormone for binding to the respective steroid hormone receptor. The assays were designed using EFC detection with chemiluminescent detection.

The HitHunter™ Steroid Hormone Assays utilize an ED-steroid hormone conjugate in which the steroid hormone is recognized by the steroid hormone receptor. In the absence of free steroid hormone, the ED fragment is incapable of reassociation with EA to form active enzyme and no chemiluminescent signal is generated. In the presence of free ligand, ED-steroid hormone conjugate competes with the free ligand for receptor binding. The amount of chemiluminescent signal is proportional to the amount of nuclear hormone receptor bound.
